Forest fire

There is a forest fire on the other side of our hill. We were in the mountains today - the Appenines and on the way back down, we could see the smoke rising.

Two helicopters have been flying back and forth over our house, going to the lake (Posta Fibreno) to fill up with water. Posta Fibreno is only a few kilometers away and is a very special lake, classified as an oasis of nature.

Gianluca went up on the balcony and took a video of the helicopter going back and forth. We are fortunate not to have ever experienced a forest fire at home. The weather here is HOT - consistently in the 90s, but not humid, so no rain. The mountains are dry and a little fire can quickly get out of control.
