When I was little, my grandparents (Nonno e Nonna) always talked about the "Valley" where they lived. When you are here, you can fully understand the meaning of valley. The area is in the "Val di Comino".  We look at the Appenine mountains and Abruzzo, yet we are still part of the region of Lazio. There is a river a short distance away fed by natural springs and strictly protected for it's beauty and clean water.

One of the many views from around the house: this one from my aunt and uncle's terrace. (We share a house; they have one side and we the other, it goes back to my great-grandfather inheriting half and his brother the other half and then how it was passed down.)
